As the Blahs’ Administrator, James oversees the smooth running of the company: from managing the office and coordinating meetings, to issuing contracts and ensuring legal compliance.
Originally from Woking, a musical background led to James completing a PhD in Music Composition at The University of York. Now based in Leeds, he combines making devised work – blurring music, theatre and movement – with work as a freelance music practitioner covering composing, improvising and singing. He has performed (mostly on cello) across the country plus conducted new music at London’s Tête-à-Tête Opera Festival and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. He also writes the music for award-winning podcast sitcom Wooden Overcoats.
