16 Nov R&D begins for Reimagine India Project
A major new project for the anniversary of the Partition of India and Pakistan is underway thanks to a research and development grant from The British Council and Arts Council England to work with our existing partners in Delhi and the UK. Our Artistic Director and research team flies to Delhi in November to meet existing and new partners. In March 2016 we will be back in India interviewing individuals who lived through partition, and the acclaimed writer Mike Kenny will join us there. Mike will then script a compelling story to engage children in a dramatic exploration of issues of peace and reconciliation in the context of arbitrary boundaries, forced migration and community conflict. This new play will tour in the UK and India from September 2017 and we anticipate it will gather high regional, national and international interest.
