Mick Connell

Mick is currently the PGCE/MA English and drama tutor at the University of Sheffield.  Mick, who has been on the Board for ten years, was instrumental in brokering and supporting the Company of Teacher programmes in Rotherham as part of BDR Creative Partnerships and, latterly, the Inspire Rotherham project. Mick worked as a senior adviser/inspector in both primary and secondary education for twenty years before moving to work in Higher Education. He has published a range of articles and books relating to the use of drama in English and literacy teaching. Mick has also served as an Education Consultant to the RSC and is a member of the Drama and Management committees of the National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE). Mick has directed many productions at the University Drama Studio in Sheffield and in 2016 he directed two new, original productions for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
