About This Project

The Blahs were commissioned for four years to lead the drama input on West Yorkshire Joint Service’s My Place project, bringing children from different schools in a target area together to investigate their shared history.

The first two years focused on exploring the history of the Indian Muslim Welfare Society’s Al Hikmah Centre (formerly the home of wealthy mill owner Mark Oldroyd) in Batley.
The latter two years were based at (allegedly haunted!) Bolling Hall, in Bradford.

The sessions were part of a larger scheme involving historical research and an archaeological dig.
