About This Project

Mrs Crowe is concerned about her grandchildren, Harry and Gwen, who are staying with her for the holidays and are having nightmares. They won’t talk to her about it, but she knows that something is worrying them. She has come to meet a team of Dream Experts for advice.

Over the course of four weeks, the children meet Harry and Gwen and encourage them to share the details of their nightmares. The Dream Experts soon see striking similarities between Harry and Gwen’s nightmares and the story of Hansel and Gretel. But what could it all mean?

Year five pupils are given the challenge of helping Mrs Crowe to help her grandchildren and to decipher what is causing their disturbing dreams.

Inspired by Anthony Browne’s picture book version of Hansel and Gretel.
